GENERAL MANUFACTURING TOLERANCES:
Design or Copy should not be closer than:

• 1/8" from edge of card
• 1/8" from holes, slots, scores, etc.
• 1/16" from signature panels or embossed areas
• 1/8" from all sides of mag stripe
• 1/8" from all sides of thermal imaging (barcode, PIN numbers, etc.)
• For scanning purposes, most barcodes need a white 'Silent Area' before and after the printed image. The size of this area is to be determined by customer.

Bleed Edges: Artwork for bleed edges must extend a minimum of 1/8" beyond the cut lines.

Screen Tints and/or Halftones: All line screens to be provided as 100% size negative, right reading,emulsion side down. Standard line screens for offset printing are 133 lines per inch (lpi) (150 lpi O.K. for short run, surface offset printing - call factory for details). Standard line screens for screen printing are 85 lpi. Large line screened areas, graduated line screens, and highly detailed line screens are difficult to reproduce with screen printing. Surface offset or laminated offset printing is recommended for best results.

Trapping: Trapping will vary with method of printing and complexity of design. For offset printing, a minimum of .25 - .50 point trap should be allowed. For screen printing, allow a minimum of .5 - 1.0 point trap.

Typeset Copy: For best results, fonts should not be smaller than 5 pt. (6 pt. For screen printing). Also, serif and script type fonts are difficult to reproduce, especially as reverse copy.

Artwork should be created with the following Macintosh software:

• Quark Express
• Page Maker
• Freehand
• Illustrator
• Photoshop

Artwork can be submitted on the following disks:

• 3.5" diskette
• Syquest 200 MB removable hard disk
• Bernoulli 150 MB removable hard disk
• Zip disk

Provide the following on each disk:

• All image files (TIFF, EPS, etc.)
• All screen and printer fonts
• Laser proof (100% size)
• Indicate file name, software type and version

Proofs: One paper or fax proof will be provided at no additional charge. Additional paper/fax proofs, Chromalins, Color Keys, etc. are available, and will be billed at current rates.

There are no output charges for electronic artwork that is complete, and can be output as black and white. Files containing line screens, 4-color process, etc. will be output to an imagesetter, and will be billed at current rates. Files that need additional work prior to output will be billed at current rates.

SCREEN PRINTING
The affordable answer for small runs. Standard for most magnets. Quick lead time with excellent service life. Long lasting, durable ink printed on high gloss or matte (semi-gloss for magnets) finish plastic.

SURFACE OFFSET PRINTING
Fine detail printing at a cost effective price. An economical option for short, medium and long runs. Great for short run, 4-color process printing. Combines excellent service life and quick delivery. Durable, U.V. ink printed on high gloss or matte. finish plastic.

LAMINATED OFFSET PRINTING
Offers maximum service life. Superior quality, standard for credit and bank card applications. Detailed offset printing is sealed into the plastic core material using a combination of heat and pressure. Most durable printing process offered. Available in a high gloss or matte finish plastic.
